I like it.
How long did it take to make the background? :P
Is it for any special reason or did you just feel like a new look?

Also, where's the navbar?
and you left the wee links thing in on the sidebar, the thing that says "google news, edit-me, and edit-me"

Having said that you probably aren't finished changing all the code are you?
