Duke of Edinburgh (here at last)

Hey guys!- Ok it took me a wile but finally here they are - the pics of our wonderful weekend! - Anyone who wasn't on the trip, please consider the fact that in these pics we have been in the Scottish wilderness for 3 days and we probably haven washed at all for at least a few days (thus the clammy skin) and have had pretty shit sleep (thus the bags!) so please don't take the Piss.

Anyway, what a great weekend it was too! Ok, we did go about 7km due southwest instead of southeast on the first day but we got there in the end didn't we? Ok the midges were hellish (ha I love that word) and the food was shit (Bekki, DO NOT BRING SPECIAL FANCY FOOD ON THE FIRST NIGHT IF IM NOT GOING TO GET ANY!!!) But....We had such a great time did we not? And although some of us felt like giving up, barely half way through the first day, we all did it didn't we? - I think you should all be very proud of your selves, but first, brace yourselves for.. .....................................The pics...

Ok, first up this is the wonderful Kate (not that the other one isn't wonderful) BEFORE and I must stress this is BEFORE the expedition began. Believe me, we don't look like that by the end!

Ok, there were two groups doing the weekend on the same route, a good group and a not so good group, incased you hadn't guessed, this is the not so good one.

THERE they are!!! - the Sexy Hannah with her new hairdo, the handsom Scott, the wonderful Kate, the other Kate, and of coursee the dashing David. What a group!- The dream group.



I know this news will break many a young male heart, but I am afraid to say that our Queenie met someone very special on our trip. Her pole didn't speak muchEnglishh but he seemed nice enough. Although he was a bit boring if you ask me, a bit black and white. Still Kate only seemed interested in his size. What have I told you Kate?

This is us on our first day in, yes, Loch goil head.About 17km from where we were supposed to be, nowhere near to Arrochar our spirits were low but we (me and Queenie -the perfect duo)tried to lift them with a good old sing song - what's that coming over the hill? Is it a monster? No its an EILIGDHI!!! ARRHHHHH"




We finally arrived at our spot for the night- exhausted, dehydrated and absolutely covered in midge bites, what did I do wrong?


Day 2- we got off to a great start. The sun was shining and the air was fresh.Queene kept us on the straight and narrow with her utterly fabulous map reading skills. Just look at that concentration!





At last. We arrived at our site for the night!Look at the joy on that girls face!









After a spot of cooking, a bit of chatting, and of course, brushing our teeth, we all set off for an early night.








The next day we woke up to a fantastic sun rise but by then my camera had totally given up so no pics- sorry! - We set off and it was really really hot, we had a very hilly route to do, and just as we were approaching the long hilly section it started to bucket down which was actually quite refreshing! -Anyway, we arrived at our finishingg point, had a coffee, some cakes, Queenie and i showed the tourists some of our famous Scottish dancing and then off we went back toBalfron.

Oh, I almost forgot!- QUOTES FORM THE WEEKEND......

Queenie - "lets re-asses the situation" (she wants a break)

Scott - bloody midges" - you had a fukking midge net!

Hopkins - "are we in pitlochery yet, sorry Aberfoil?" No dear, we're in Lochgoilhead.

Hannah - "OMG they'vee printed the map wrong the valley is on the wrong side, we are so on the right route-Amandaa set us off this way" Oh dere, we were going up the wrong valley silly billy!

David (thats me) - "Whats that coming over the hill? is it a monster? no its an Elidhie!" RUN! - i swear that girl tried to kill me, - she said she "fell" ontop of me, but im sure it was an assasionation attempt!

Any way, well done every1 for compleating the expedition, its only a few months untill we have to do it all again for real!-
